Hi everyone! I hope you had a wonderful week! Ours was pretty good! So we found out Sister Lao and I are staying another transfer actually our entire zone is staying the same! Woohoo! We are really excited! We love Thornlie!! We had a bunch of small miracles this week! We were walking down the road one day and we stopped to ask this cute old Vietnamese couple if they needed help in their yard. They didn't speak a lick of English but they gave us a massive bag of lemons! People are so giving! Another time we were tracting and we passed this house that was decked out with budda statues and other religious things all over the yard. Usually we would probably not knock on that door to save time but I felt a really strong prompting that we needed to knock on the door. We were sort of scared because sometimes people can get pretty angry but we knocked and this sweet old couple from the UK came out and started talking to us! They were lovely! Turns out they aren't even Buddhist they just like Asia! They gave us a tour of their awesome yard and we are going to go back and see them again! I'll send pictures next week! :) Those are just a couple of the many miracles we had this week! I love serving here in Western Australia! I'm so grateful for the opportunity that I have to serve! I love you all and I hope you have a fantastic week! Mahal Kita! -Sister Penrod xxxx

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a fantastic week! This week went by super fast! I can't even remember what happened!
We had a blitz in the Elders Area on Saturday and it was really cool we followed up with one of their potential investigators from China. His English wasn't very good but we had a really cool experience talking to him, he is going through some trials right now with his family and he had been trying to pray but said it didn't work. We were able to testify that God does answer prayers! We taught him about how much God loves him and his family and he started crying! He told us he had asked all of the same questions at a church he went to but they wouldn't answer his questions but we did! He was sooo kind! The elders are going to go and see him next week! I love the moments like this on my mission! They build my testimony so much! On Saturday night we had an awesome cottage evening! There were three non-member families there! It was so good! The spirit was so strong! I love Thornlie ward! The people here are so wonderful! I hope you all have a fantastic week! Don't forget to pray and read your scriptures!! Go to church this Sunday! :) Have a wonderful week! Love you all! Love, Sister Penrodxx HELLO EVERYONE! This week was really good! We are still trying to figure out our area! Doing a lot of following up and tracting! We have met some pretty cool people though! We had a lot of fun this week! We are still teaching Latu! She is so amazing! She is so close! I'm so excited for her and her family!! Other than her we are really trying to find some new people to teach!! yay! We also got to go to the temple! I love going to the temple here in Perth! It is such an amazing place! I had a lot of firsts this week!
1. I fell off my bike for the first time in 9 months! I wasn't paying attention and ran into a pole in the middle of the sidewalk and did a front flip over my handle bars! It was pretty epic! 2. I ate balut!!! Some members brought us some, basically if you don't know what balut is it's a Filipino street food. Fertilized duck eggs! Basically it is a baby duck inside of a boiled egg, complete with feathers, beak, the whole deal! It actually isn't that bad though, the texture isn't very nice and you can't look at it, but the taste isn't too bad. haha! I hope you all have a wonderful week! You are all amazing! I love you all! I know that this work is the greatest work we can do! I'm so grateful for the opportunity to serve in Western Australia! Especially in Thornlie ward! I wish you all the best! Love yous! Love, Sister Penrod xxxxxx Post for last week! We received it on Thursday! Just now have a chance to post! Karl was Baptized!6/6/2016 THIS WEEK WAS AWESOME!!! WE HAD SOOO MUCH FUN! BUT IT WAS MOSTLY AWESOME BECAUSE....YAY! KARL GOT BAPTIZED!! (I'm still not sure if you spell baptism with a z or s... sorry about that haha.) We are sooo happy for him!!! We are so blessed to have met him and taught him! It was all thanks to Elder Arrieta who found and baptized him! We are so lucky we got to teach him! Karl and Tito Renante shared their testimonies at Karls baptism and the spirit was sooo strong! It is so much fun to be able to teach friends!
The rest of the week has been good too! We are still trying to figure out the area... we had a district blitz on Saturday and miracle! We found 2 solid new investigators one of which is Michelle, she is from..... guess.... The Philippines!!! She let us in immediately and we started talking about her family! She kept saying "I feel so blessed you came to my house!" She is so much fun she has 3 children but they are all in the Philippines still studying she misses them a lot! We talked about eternal families and she loved it! We can't wait to go back! I love you all I'm so grateful for this opportunity to serve a mission! I know that as we truly try to understand for ourselves that we are children of God that is what changes everything! This work is about Love! God loves all of us! He wants us to be happy! What is better than that! I hope you all have a wonderful week! Remember that you are children of God! Love, Sister Penrod xxx Hey Everybody!!!! I hope you have a fantastic week this week!!! We had one!! We had zone conference! It was really good! Yay!
KARL'S BAPTISM IS ON FRIDAY!!!!! He passed his interview!! We are sooooo excited for him!!!! He is seriously the best!!! We are sooooo excited for him! Basically that is it! We are really excited for Karl!!! Other than that not a whole lot happened! My bike got stolen but MIRACLE it was left outside of Hungry Jacks infront of our flat!! Someone just went for a ride and left it there! haha! The Elders bikes got stolen too.... but they didn't get theirs back :( We got locked out of our flat... It was like 10 and we were taking the bin out and forgot keys so we had to call the senior couple over flats and wait for them! They were not happy... haha! It rained a lot this week. But yeah! Karl is getting Bapized!!!!! YAY! I hope you all have a wonderful week! Love you all! Love, Sister Penrod xxx Pictures from Sisters Pday.... so I lost my camera charger so these are from Sister Lao's camera haha! sorry mum! I don't know why they are upside down! So Happy Mothers day last week! It was so good to talk to all of you via Skype! I miss you all! This week has been absolutely crazy! Sooo I told you on Skype we weren't getting transferred. Jokes, President changed his mind! We got transferred! We got doubled out of Kenwick and doubled into Thornlie, its like 10 minutes down the road. Same companionship, same ward, almost same area.... So not too exciting we have a new flat though, that is cool I guess! Some other exciting things this week:
1. Karl is still getting baptized on the 27th we are so excited for him!!! He was a little bit concerned about the word of wisdom but then he talked to President Fife at a fireside and now he is all good with it! :) 2. Sister Lao and I both got awesome colds from Sister Drew and Sister Prasodjo right before they left. What a nice present! We miss them sooo much! 3. I tried to ride a skateboard and fell off and got a minor concussion... don't worry I'm all goods. It was Hilarious! I wish I had pictures! I had this mean bruise on my face! Other than that not a whole lot happening we are still trying to figure out this new area! Its exciting! I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!! Love, Sister Penrod xxxx -- Mother's Day Skype with Sister Penrod! Her mission president let her Skype on Monday, so it would be Sunday (actual Mother's Day for us). The best gift ever! To see her smiling face... words can't describe how happy that made us! We talked with her and her companion, Sister Lao. What a treat! We love you Sister Penrod! They just had transfers and will stay together for another transfer. The other sisters in their area are being moved. They are now the only sisters in their area. It is getting colder where she is. They are moving into winter. She talked with her family, grandparents, some of her aunts and uncles and cousins. She even got a few computer kisses from some cute little ones! I think the smile says it all! We LOVE Sister Penrod! Thanks for sharing the greatest message out there! The Gospel is true!
Hi Everyone!! This week turned out really good!!! For a lot of reasons!! But the best is that :
KARL IS GETTING BAPTIZED!!!! I am sooooo excited for him!!! He is seriously sooo golden!! His date is the 27th of May but we will probably move it closer!! We are so blessed!!! I love teaching him because the spirit is always so strong in our lessons! I've learned so much in just the past week or so in our lessons with him! It really is amazing how the spirit teaches you while you are teaching!! That was the highlight of the week! Other than that not a whole lot! Lots of tracting and finding! Its starting to get really cold here though! Who would have thought Australia was cold!? It is freezing!! It rains a lot! It is Mothers day this Sunday!!! Yay! I get to talk to you people!!! I can't wait!! I hope you all have an amazing amazing week! Say a prayer for Karl! Love you all! Love, Sister Penrod xxx Hello Family! Happy ANZAC Day! This week was SO GOOD! We were so blessed! We had some awesome miracles this week!
We felt inspired to call up a less active Filipino guy in the ward, Tito Renente, we have been trying to see him for a while and he told us we could come over last Tuesday! So we went over and holy miracles! So #1. Tito Renente was feeling pretty down and was really worried because he had to take his last driving exam before his Philippines license expired, he had tried taking it 3 times before and failed and if he failed this time he would lose his job. Well the spirit touched his heart and he prayed for the first time in a long time and… He passed his test!!! Yay! Miracle #2, after the lesson the members who came with us asked if we could go with them to try to see some old Filipino friends who they had tried to share the gospel with before a few years ago. Well we went to see them and it was so good! They are ready and excited to hear the gospel now! And Miracle #3, So on Tuesday night the Elders were on splits with the elders quorum and they didn’t coordinate with us so they showed up to see Tito Renente while we were there, but it was so inspired because Tito Renente’s housemate opened the door and they started talking to him and he is soooooooooooo GOLDEN! The next day they sent us his info and we went to see him and he is so solid! His name is Karl and he is from, guess where!?...The Philippines! He is 20 and was Catholic but has been Athiest for the past 3 years! Tito Renente was able to tell him about the Book of Mormon after we all left, they talked for a couple of hours! Karl told us that he knows that the Book of Mormon is going to help him find out who he really is! We are so excited for Karl! He came to church on Sunday and loved it! He told us all churches should go for 3 hours because we can learn so much! Karl is the best! God has prepared so many people here in Western Australia! We just have to let the spirit lead us to them! Something else awesome that happened this week was we had mission conference and Elder Nielson came! (I’m sure I’m spelling his name wrong but he is the NFL player!) He is sooo good! He is like President Fife the way he talks he just talks about all of these random things but somehow it all works together! Some things him and his wife said that I loved were: That our mission can be the greatest time of our life if we choose to make it, When you think you’re something you’re nothing! You can’t have miracles without major opposition! He gave us a mission blessing and it was so special! The spirit was sooo strong! I’m so grateful that we were able to hear him and his wife speak! We are so blessed! I wish you could all have been there I have like 7 hours worth of notes! This week was awesome! I love you all and I hope you have a wonderful week this week! Love you all heaps! Love, Sister Penrod 1. Hanging out with these girls is soooo fun! 2. Dorsa and I trying to be all artsy with our braids ;) Hello everyone! I hope you all had a great week! Our week was pretty good! We found 3 new investigators this week! And 7 potential investigators! #blessingsoftracting. They are from all over the world! Philippines, Nepal, Taiwan, Burma, Somalia, Malaysia the list goes on and on! It's so fun to meet so many people from around the world! We are so blessed in our area! We know that the Lord has been preparing so many people here!
One of my favourite things this week was our appointment with our new investigator Musa from Somalia! He is so amazing! His home is so humble there is hardly anything there but in his back yard he has boxes packed with tens of thousands of books that he has been gathering and is sending to Somalia! In May he is going to Somalia to start building a school for children! It was so inspiring to sit and talk with him! It is so amazing the difference that one person can make in the lives of so many! Musa is definetly an example of that! This week we have a mission conference with Elder Nielson! We are all so excited to learn from him! That is about it for this week! I hope that you all have a wonderful week! I Love you all! Love, Sister Penrod -- Sister Rhea Audrey Penrod Australia Perth Mission PO Box 185 Tuart Hill Western Australia 6939 1.
