ALOHA!
Not a lot to say this week.. just doing our usual missionary thaaang. It was a little bit of a rough week but my companion is awesome so we got through it together! Made the best out of it and stayed positive! But today is the best day because not only is it P'day.. but it's PAY DAY and it's the 1st of feb so we get new km's for our car ! SO many happies!! We literally had 0 food this week.. shoulda used personal funds but I had none sooooooo..... wanted to live the thug life as a missionary haha. But it was cool because we were blessed by random as dinner appointments by members! We also lived off ICECREAAAAAAAAAAAAAM! Maccas $2 icecreams is where it's at!! (They also happen to be the cheapest edible thing in all of Australia so as poor missionaries we take advantage of that!)(They say getting fat is apart of the missionary experience) ! We had interviews with our mission president, we talked about our flat. Hopefully they are going to do something about it. We can now smell Marijuana 24/7... yay :| The struggle is real though.. My very first Australia Day was true as everyone described, Really hot! Everyone was swimming except for us :( but it is okay because I know that yous are all freezing back home except for some of you traitors cough cough *Hawaii cough cough. But we had a ward activity down at the beach and we just lived vicariously through everyone else as we watched them swim, we only shed a few tears! We watched the missionary broadcast this week, I loved it. One of my favourite quotes was by Elder Anderson to always “have His name on our lips.” And he continued to say that if we are ever unsure on what to say speak of our saviour Jesus Christ. Speak of his doctrine, of His teachings and His Atonement. He continued to say that our “greatest responsibility is to extol and defend the divine mission and doctrine of our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ.” It was really neat to see so many apostles talk directly to us as missionaries! We learned how to be even better missionaries! I love you all! I hope you have a wonderful week! Love, Sister Penrod Hello Everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful week! This week has been great! We were able to go to the temple on Wednesday it was so neat! Ida and James agreed to live the word of wisdom! We were so so so busy!
But best of all Rau and Phern are now officially members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints!!!! They are so amazing! There baptism was so so so special! I love them so so so much! I'm so grateful for the opportunity that I've been given to meet their family! They are all so beautiful inside and out! They have changed me for the better! I love them! So many people came to the baptism! It was awesome! They had to open up the dividers between the chapel and the cultural hall to fit everyone! It was such an amazing experience! I love them all so much! I've been so blessed to meet such amazing people here in Western Australia! It is such a beautiful place with such beautiful people! I'm so grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who knows each of us individually who loves us more than we can comprehend and can see our full potential! I love you all! I miss you so much! I hope you have a fantastic week this week! Sorry it's short this week! Love, Sister Penrod Photos from Facebook! Rau, tagged Sister Penrod's mom (me). I am posting these here for her book that we will be able to make from this blog! How beautiful they all look! What a special day!

Ni Hao Everyone! I'm Learning Mandarin ;) It has been so long! I feel like so much has happened this week but I don't know where to start! Rau and Phern are getting baptized on Saturday!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited it is finally happening! Yay!!!! I love them so so much and I am so so so happy for them! Yay! Rau is such an amazing example I am so blessed to know her! We are still teaching Ida and James, with Sister Cheung, They are so so lovely and so willing to learn! I've learned so much from them in the past couple of weeks!
I hit my 4 month mark on Saturday! That is crazy! I can't believe it has been 4 months! This week has been all over the place, Its been hard, fun, happy, and I've learned so much! Our area is so big we've found a lot of really pretty new places this week! We've been visiting a lot of members and less-active members trying to strengthen them and get them excited about missionary work! I've learned a lot about how the spirit works, when we show up to houses randomly and it just so happened to be the perfect moment! I'm so grateful for our Heavenly Father, I know that he loves each one of us! He knows us personally and he sends us people to help us and strengthen us! I love the Mormon Message "Hope of God's Light" Everytime I watch it I get something different out of it! Prayer is so powerful and I love that he gets his answer during a simple prayer at a church picnic! Our Heavenly Father loves us and wants us to communicate with hime! That is how we will receive our answers to questions! Through Prayer! I love you all and I'm so grateful to have such wonderful family and friends! Thank you for all that you do! I love you so so so much! Have a wonderful week! Love, Sister Penrod Talofa Everyone! So much has happened this week I don't even know where to start!
Our area is on Fire.... This week was awesome we had 8 investigators come to church and set Ida and James on date to be baptized! Our area is also literally on fire, Waroona and some of our outer suburbs are literally all burned up! There are crazy fires all over WA! The one just to the south of us is so out of control it has created it's own thunderstorms from the heat and causing more lighting strikes in turn causing more fire! One town just south of us was completely wiped out! Because of other thunderstorms there is small fires starting all over the place as well! But anyways back to Ida and James, we were able to bring Sister Cheung with us on splits, it was awesome because she was able to translate for them and check to make sure they understood! It was so perfect, because she is in a trio in our zone so we can go and steal her whenever we want! They are on date for the 13th of Feb, we were going to do the week before, but that interferes with Chinese New Year and they have a lot going on! I'm so excited for them! They are so willing to learn and so so nice! Yay! So hopefully Rau and Phern will be able to get baptized on the 23rd of Jan, then Alysha on the 30th of Jan and then Ida and James on the 13th of Feb! Yay! It has been soooo hot this week! Our flat has no aircon so it is a sauna at night we have heaps of fans and freeze towels to sleep with but it is still so hot! It's been in the hight 30's low 40's all week! I can't believe it is winter in Utah right now! haha! I still love it here though! It's such a beautiful place! I'm so grateful for this opportunity that I have to serve alongside the people of WA! I'm so grateful for the knowledge that I have of the restoration of the gospel, I know with all my heart that it is true, I know that we have a wonderful plan of happiness and we can be together forever with those we love! I love you all! I love hearing from you! Have a wonderful week! Love Love Love, Sister Penrod |
